Come along from 26-29 October, to a weekend of talks and performances, in association with the sound festival which will include a keynote talk by the distinguished Danish composer Bent Sørensen.
The theme of Sounding the North weekend will be around whether or not there is a sound of the north in music.
It will look at this through a variety of lenses, including, jazz/improvisation, sonic art, folk/traditional music, vocal and instrumental with performances by the Bozzini Quartet, Arild Andersen, Gunnar Karel Másson, Erik Mikael Karlsson, invisiblEARts, the Edinburgh Quartet and Song Circus. There will be talks and presentations, including some by Aberdeen University students past and present.
