The University of Aberdeen has climbed four places in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.
Aberdeen is now 40 in the UK, the institution’s highest position since 2013, and sixth in Scotland.
While the full figures are not released until Sunday the data available shows the University has improved in its Student Experience score, rising to 4th in Scotland.
The news is the latest in a long line of ranking improvements for the University this year.
Aberdeen climbed two places to 40th in The Complete University Guide. Last month the Times Higher Education world rankings placed Aberdeen 185th in a global list of more than 1100, and the National Student Survey also saw the University ranked well above the UK average across every teaching measure, with student satisfaction sitting at 87%.
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018contains full profiles of all universities. The league table is made up of nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
The Times will complement coverage in The Sunday Times with two further supplements to be published on Monday and Tuesday, September 25 and 26. These will focus on the best universities for teaching quality and student experience and the universities that come top in different subject areas.
Expanded coverage with 67 subject tables and full interactive tables on all the league table components, and additional features are available to Times and Sunday Times subscribers at thesundaytimes.co.uk/gooduniversityguide.
