Update: Cyber security threat

Please remain vigilant and cautious when receiving unsolicited emails.

Dear Colleague

You may be aware of the global cyber security attack over the weekend that is causing major disruption across many organisations.

There is a concrete concern that, as people return to work today, the infection may spread as systems are utilised.

As yet, the University is unaffected and has left services running. Significant work is going on to protect our systems and data.

However, at this time, can you please be especially vigilant and cautious in the emails that you are opening and links that you click on.  It is likely that the infection is being spread through this medium.

Apple users, this is potentially relevant to you if you are running dual MS Windows within the MacOS.

If you are in any doubt at all, please do not click or open questionable emails or click on links within them. Switch your PC off, disconnect it from the network and contact IT Services.
