Professor Neil Price will explore several textual sources and previously unknown combinations that will illuminate ritual life in the Viking Age. All welcome.
This talk will be held at the University of Aberdeen in Room NK1 on Thursday, 27 April 2017 from 16:00 until 17:00
- Three textual sources will be explored from widely differing times and places, bringing them together in previously unattempted combinations to illuminate aspects of ritual life in the Viking Age.
- In focus will be the treatment of the dead, sexual habits and social customs.
- Although the seminar will largely rely on written evidence, the conclusions have potentially considerable archaeological implications.
