Anni Makela presented her thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Marine Biology at the University of Aberdeen on 14th March 2017 and successfully passed her Viva.
Congratulations to Anni whose thesis was titled "Diversity and Functioning of Arctic benthic ecosystems and their resilience to climate change driven alterations in food supply".
Thanks were given to Anni's supervisors, Prof. Ursula Witte and Prof. Frithjof Kuepper, her internal examiner, Dr Les Noble and her external examiner Prof. Dieter Piepenberg, Senior scientist at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research Bremerhaven.
