An experimental residency exploring wellbeing through knowledge practices and contemplative practices
Between 24th November and 2nd December all staff members and students are cordially invited to participate in activities organised as part of the Knowing from the Inside, Dept. of Anthropology University of Aberdeen in collaboration with the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Freie Universität Berlin. Through performance training, contemplative techniques, singing, dance and various forms of discussion, we will explore how attentive movement, sounding and breathing correspond with senses of self and wellbeing and, furthermore, the relevance these might have to our own daily academic knowledge practices. Morning sessions (10.00-12.00), focused on different tasks and techniques, will take place daily in the Chaplaincy Hall. Each day we will also prepare and eat lunch together in the Chaplaincy lounge. The afternoons will be dedicated to reflecting on our experiences through individual and collective reading, creative writing, drawing in the KFI offices at 24 High street.
