The Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at South China Normal University (SCNU) is a pioneering joint initiative that welcomed its first cohort in 2021.

Located on SCNU’s vibrant Foshan campus, in the Guangdong Province of China, the institute stands as a testament to the power of international collaboration, combining the academic strengths and research expertise of both partner institutions. It offers three distinct 4-year undergraduate programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Computing Science, and Business Management & Information Systems. Our comprehensive academic framework is reinforced by a dedicated pool of University of Aberdeen lecturers who regularly travel to SCNU to deliver courses entirely in English, ensuring a truly international educational experience. Students benefit from dual registration, granting them access to extensive academic resources and global networks across both universities.

Since its inception, the Aberdeen Institute has experienced rapid growth, reflecting its commitment to high-standard education and cutting-edge research. With the first graduates expected in Summer 2025, the institute is already making significant strides in the international academic community.
