Biography
I am Felipe Segundo Abril Bermúdez, a mathematician and physicist with a PhD in Physics from the National University of Colombia. My research focuses primarily on the intersection of physics and complex systems employing tools from non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, stochastic processes, non-stationary time series analysis, and multifractality. I apply advanced theoretical frameworks such as supersymmetric theory and path integral formalism to examine key aspects of financial systems, including scaling laws, risk dynamics, and market instability.
In addition to my work in finance, I have experience in mathematical modeling of diseases and knowledge of data engineering for process automation. My interdisciplinary approach has led me to publications in journals such as Physical Review E and PLOS ONE. I have also served as a referee for Chaos, Solitons & Fractals and PLOS ONE, contributing to the advancement of the academic community in these areas.
I am currently a researcher at the University of Aberdeen, where I am involved in the study of higher-order interactions. This research aims to understand how interactions beyond simple pairwise connections influence the dynamics of complex systems.
