Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence of South China Normal University

The Aberdeen Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, South China Normal University (SCNU) is a joint institute between SCNU and the University of Aberdeen and welcomed its first student intake in 2021.

The Institute, based at SCNU’s Foshan campus, delivers three 4-year undergraduate programmes. These are in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Computing Science and Business Management and Information Systems. We have a dedicated pool of University of Aberdeen lecturers who regularly travel to SCNU to teach our students. All courses are taught in English which provides our students with a truly international educational experience. Students are registered with both Universities and can take advantage of the resources both have to offer. Since its opening in 2021, the Aberdeen Institute has continued to grow and the first graduates are expected in Summer 2025.

As well as delivering a high standard of education, the institute is committed to fostering an international research partnership in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.

Teaching

The Institute offers three four-year undergraduate programmes in BSc Artificial Intelligence, BSc Computing Science and BSc Business Management and Information Systems.
