Music Research Seminars

Music Research Seminars take place during term-time throughout the academic year and offer a wide range of music and interdisciplinary research themes. These seminars are directed at music students (undergraduate and postgraduate) and staff but are also open to the wider university community and beyond, providing opportunities for lively discussion and debate across the broad spectrum of music (and related) studies. Seminars are held fortnightly on Thursdays at 4pm (unless otherwise indicated) in room 055, MacRobert Building, University of Aberdeen. All events will also be accessible via online live stream. Composers' Forum

Composers' Forum is a fortnightly informal forum for all staff and students who have an interest in composition and new music, not necessarily as composers. There is no fixed structure to the format; some weeks may see presentations by staff or students, and other weeks might be general discussions regarding issues related to composition. Forums usually consist of a presentation followed by an open discussion. Forums take place on Mondays at 5pm (unless otherwise indicated) in room 055, MacRobert Building, University of Aberdeen. SERG Sonic Arts Forum

Sonic Arts Forum, organised by members of SERG (Sound Emporium Research Group), is a fortnightly informal forum for students, staff and anyone interested in sonic arts and related issues of technology and aesthetics. It provides an opportunity to listen to and discuss new electroacoustic compositions and to debate current themes and theories in sonic arts and sound studies.
