Doctoral student composer's choral work shortlisted for competition
Gemma McGregor, who is studying for a PhD in composition at the University of Aberdeen with Professor Paul Mealor and Dr Phillip Cooke, has had her setting of verses from Psalm 61 (for chorus and organ) shortlisted for the Greyfriars Kirk Competition Day in Edinburgh on Saturday 31st October. The Quodlibet Chorale, directed by Iain McLarty, will perform the short-listed pieces including Gemma's anthem, Hear My Cry, which will be judged by Sir James Macmillan, Ian McLarty and Martin Ritchie.
