Sarah Rimkus, composer on the University of Aberdeen's new MMus in Vocal Music, has won two of the United States of America's most prestigious awards for young composers.
Sarah Rimkus, recently graduated from the University of Southern California and currently studying on the MMus in Vocal Music Programme at Aberdeen under the supervision of Professor Paul Mealor, has won two of the United States’ most prestigious awards for composition – the Morton Gould Award and the ASCAP Foundation’s Leonard Bernstein Award, which comes from a fund that is set aside to enable young composers to take further study. Sarah has used these awards to help fund her studies in Aberdeen.
