Congratulations to Ross Whyte, one of our postgraduate composers who is in the third year of his PhD, was selected to participate in the Huddersfield Autumn National Composers’ Symposium which took place at the University of Huddersfield on 18 and 19 November 2010.
Each participant took part in a masterclass in which they had the opportunity to present their work and discuss it with an internationally renowned composer. Ross joined postgraduate students from Birmingham and Huddersfield in working with Rebecca Saunders (Berlin).
Articles from each of the participating composers will be published in the next CeReNeM journal and short video excerpts from the event will be posted online at www.cerenem.org in December.
Ross said: "The opportunity to present my work alongside some very accomplished composers was an extremely rewarding one. I feel like I've learned a lot."
