The Department of Music has recently been ranked the first in Scotland for music in The Guardian University Guide 2024, a position it has held for two years now.
The league table accomplishment follows on from similar successes in other league tables and a positive outcome in the recent National Student Survey (NSS). In the past decade the department has steadily climbed the rankings to become one of the leading places to study music in the country.
Head of Cluster, Prof Phillip Cooke commented recently on this achievement: ‘we are all thrilled at this news which highlights all the efforts that staff have put into making the department the success it is. We have some amazing students, some great facilities and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff body that have all come together to create a really welcoming and inclusive place to study music to the very highest level. We look forward to carrying on this success in 2023-24 and for a long time to come!’.
