Tuesday 25th October 2011 sees the launch of two new CDs by composers Paul Mealor and Pete Stollery from the Music Department.
A Tender Light, by Paul Mealor, featuring Tenebrae Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be launched St Bartholomew the Great Church in London. This is his first CD recording with Decca Records and features his Ubi Caritas which was composed for the Royal Wedding and shortlisted for the 2011 Music Industry Awards - best classical publication category.
The same day sees the launch of Pete Stollery's Scenes from empreintes DIGITALes. This is his second release for the Montreal-based publisher and features works composed between 2004 and 2007 including the award-winning Still Voices. The launch is part of the sound festival which runs from mid October to mid November in North East Scotland and which, this year, features works by both composers.
