Leading composer Sir James MacMillan visits the Department of Music for a workshop and lecture during a busy residency in the area.
The Department of Music is thrilled to welcome leading Scottish composer Sir James MacMillan to the university this month for a workshop and lecture recital. MacMillan is in the area for the premiere of his new piano quintet 'We Are Collective' as part of Haddo Arts Festival. Whilst at the department, he will take part in a workshop with pianist Alisdair Beatson and the Maxwell Quartet led by Prof Phillip Cooke (who wrote the first biography on the composer) and The David and June Gordon Lecture. The premiere of the new quintet will take place at Haddo House later in the week.
