University of Aberdeen composers and research students Théophile Krosi-Douté and Michael Merrill were selected to take part in the 'Choral Art: Composers and Conductors' program at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, in Banff, Canada. Théophile and Michael will spend three weeks at the Centre this February, participating in workshops with conductors Michael Zaugg and Lone Larsen, as well as composer Tarik O'Reagan. The two are part of only five composers who were selected for the program.
The residency will also allow Théophile and Michael to have their music performed by Pro Coro Canada, the country’s top professional choir. Théophile Krosi-Douté and Michael Merrill are both PhD students in the music department at the University of Aberdeen. Both composers have obtained full funding for their participation in the program.
