A pasticcio drawing on three of the earliest settings
The myth of Orpheus, whose music has the power to move even inanimate stones, has inspired composers from the very first operas to the present day. The Early Music Ensembles present a pasticcio drawing on three of the earliest settings: Claudio Monteverdi's L'Orfeo (1607) , Stefano Landi's La morte d'Orfeo (1619), and Luigi Rossi's Orfeo (1647).
