Finalists' Concert presented by SPECTRUM New Music Ensemble
This concert will feature works by University of Aberdeen composers and Award finalists Anna McClure, Andrew Fowler, Simon Hellewell, Bryce Hope, Joseph Stollery and Jennifer Taylor. Many congratulations to the finalists – this was a competitive year for the Award, with Spectrum receiving nearly double the amount of entries it received last year. Award decisions were made by external adjudicator Dr Adrian Hull.
One finalist will be chosen to receive a £1000 commission to write a larger work for SPECTRUM New Music Ensemble, to be premiered in November 2016 alongside chamber works of renowned American composer Morten Lauridsen, who will be the Department’s guest composer-in-residence. This announcement will be made at the end of the concert.
Please join us for an exciting evening of world premieres in support of new music in Aberdeen!
