Newly commissioned works for 'New Focus' as well as jazz standards.
Saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski and pianist Euan Stevenson have been performing together for almost a decade. In recent years they have received critical acclaim for their award winning nonet NEW FOCUS, which was nominated for The Scottish Album of the Year Award 2013 (the only classical/jazz album to be shortlisted in the top 20 albums). In 2013, Stevenson was recipient of the 'Emerging Artist' award and Wiszniewski 'Best Instrumentalist' at The Scottish Jazz Awards. Here with the New Focus Quartet featuring the incredible talents of bass virtuoso Mario Caribe from Brazil and one of the world's top drummers Alyn Cosker, Wiszniewski and Stevenson perform a hugely enjoyable and eclectic programme of music which includes excerpts from NEW FOCUS, newly commissioned works and Jazz Standards.
