The University's Early Music Ensembles and the Aberdeen Musical Society present a fully staged and costumed performance of Eccles' Opera and Libretto; The Judgement of Paris

 

Celebrate Valentine's Day with a short, fully-staged opera on the Triumph of Love, as the shepherd Paris is charged by the messenger god Hermes to judge a beauty contest among three goddesses. With bribery, backstabbing, and the Golden Apple of Discord!

One of 4 operas composed in 1700 on the same libretto, as part of an audience-judged "Musick Prize", for the purpose of promoting English-language opera.
