World premières of two colourful new works written for the Edinburgh Quartet, Quartet-in-residence at the University of Aberdeen. Fox's piece grew out of a painting which he saw in 2012 in the National Museum of Art in Washington. Whilst closer to home, Palmer's new quartet was inspired by the plainchant singing of monks at Pluscarden Abbey and its setting in the NE of Scotland.
