Part of the Connecting Britten Festival
Connecting Britten is a three day festival celebrating the life, works, friends and influences of Benjamin Britten (1913 – 1976). The festival will feature performances from the University's leading ensembles and a study day led by leading Britten scholars.
Benjamin Britten’s contribution to vocal music in the 20th century has been immense. This programme, including Hymn to St Cecelia and Rejoice in the Lamb, juxtaposes works by Britten with Henry Purcell and includes two major Verse Anthems. The centrally placed ‘Golden Sonata’ will be played on original instruments.
