‘Postcards from Europe’

This is a past event

Marianne Olyver (violin) & Dominic John (piano)

We are delighted to welcome back 'Postcards from Europe', a recital with narration tracing music and displacement in Central Europe in the 1930s. The recital will feature virtuoso gypsy violin music and works by Jewish composers whose music was banned from performance by the Third Reich such as the extraordinary lost musical tradition of Franz Schreker, Alexander Zemlinsky, Erwin Schulhoff, Hans Gal, Peter Gellhorn, and Robert Dauber - some of whom emigrated, others of whom perished in concentration camps. The project gives a voice again to this lost musical tradition and seeks to honour both the composer's lives and the lives of all those who suffered during this period of persecution.

Admission: £8, £5 concession, £2 students/children.

Tickets go on sale at the start of October and are available from Aberdeen Box Office 01224  641122 or Online at www.boxofficeaberdeen.com
