2 Years Later
Mrs Smith's daughter phones the GP as her mum is complaining of abdominal pain.
History
- Pain started in the night but hasn't gone away
- Pain generalised but worse in right upper quadrant
- Can't find anything that makes it better or worse
- Takes Oromorph for pain regularly, however she is still very uncomfortable
- Bowels are moving
- No vomiting
- No urinary symptoms
On Examination
- Patient looks uncomfortable and distressed at rest
- Abdomen soft but very tender
- Hard, craggy, painful hepatomegaly
- Marked ascites
- Bowel sounds present
