Class II MHC molecules are found only on professional antigen presenting cells and are responsible for presenting exogenous, or extracellular antigens from pathogenic invaders. Examples of professional antigen presenting cells include: Dendritic cells, Macrophages and B lymphocytes. These antigen presenting cells are responsible for bringing antigens to the attention of T lymphocytes via these MHC molecules.
