What is Radiology?

Clinical radiology is the specialty of using radiographs and other forms of imaging for the diagnosis and management of patients.

It is a precise discipline which demonstrates how disease processes affect form and function. Nearly all inpatients now have some form of radiological investigation and imaging plays an increasing role in patient management.

Once you become junior doctors, you will regularly interact with your radiology department and will be expected to have an understanding of the strengths and limitations of imaging.
