Local
- Infection
- Devitalised tissues will necrose predisposing to infection
- Regular reviews +/- debridement of the wound is required
- Sensory / Motor deficit
- Peripheral nerve tissue is irreversibly damaged after >75 minutes of total ischaemia
- In leg compartment syndrome the Tibial and Common Fibular nerves are particularly vulnerable to
ischaemic damage
- Rebound Compartment Syndrome
- Recurrence after surgical decompression
- Usually due to incomplete fasciotomies
