- Crush injuries
- Burns
- The most common injury giving rise to ACS is tibial shaft fracture
- Other causes
- Vascular
- Bleeding disorders
- Vessel injury
- Post-ischaemic swelling
- Iatrogenic
- Tight dressings/casts
- Extravasation of IV fluids
