- It was decided to leave her on IV antibiotics for 5-7 days to allow her fever to subside and then re-assess the need for surgical intervention to release the trapped lung.
- After 7 days her temperature had settled and she felt much better.
- However, she now experienced dyspnoea on showering or walking up one flight of stairs.
- Right thoracotomy and decortication was recommended.
