Other unwanted effects
| Hypersensitivity reactions | Pulmonary oedema, photosensitivity and skin rashes. |
| Hyperglycaemia | This may result from the opening of K+ATP channels in B-cells of the pancreas, from hypokalaemia and from reduced tissue sensitivity to insulin |
| Erectile dysfunction | This occurs in about 10% of middle-aged males treated with high doses of thiazides. The impotence is reversible on withdrawal of the thiazide. |
