Unwanted effects:
These mainly stem from the blockade of L-type Ca2+ channels in smooth and cardiac muscle.
Low doses may cause:
- Constipation
- Flushing
- Headache
- Gravitational oedema
(ankle swelling)
Higher doses may cause:
- Hypotension
- Heart failure
- Bradycardia
- Heart block
