- Compression fractures are common in individuals with osteoporosis
- Diagnosis is done using lateral x-rays
- On x-ray there is a loss of anterior, middle or posterior vertebral height by 20%. This shows the typical ‘wedge’ shape
- Treatment: observations and pain management mostly
