Outcome:
- You refer this patient directly to the secondary care dermatology clinic using an Urgent-Suspected Cancer referral according to current Scottish Guidelines
- Your referral described the history provided by the patient and highlights the relevant information from your ABCDE assessment
- They are seen four weeks later in the dermatology out patient department where an excision biopsy is performed
- Following the pathology report and clinical review, the patient is confirmed to have a stage I melanoma
- They are subsequently seen at hospital for a wide local excision and commenced in secondary care follow-up
