Examine the space between a row of hepatocytes and the blood sinusoids that run parallel with it
In this space you can see some small densely stained nuclei
These are the nuclei of endothelial cells lining the blood sinusoids or of macrophages which are present in the cell wall of the sinusoid interspersed between the endothelial cells
In the liver, these macrophages are known as Kupffer cells
