Liver Organisation:
- Identify the rows of hepatocytes
- Examine the space between a row of hepatocytes and the blood sinusoids that run parallel with it
- In this space you can see some small densely stained nuclei
- These are the nuclei of endothelial cells lining the blood sinusoids or of macrophages which are present in the cell wall of the sinusoid interspersed between the endothelial cells
- In the liver, these macrophages are known as Kupffer cells
