Preface:

  • The content of this programme reflects the exposure to histology given to Phase 1 MBChB students at the University of Aberdeen
  • The content is essentially the same as the various components presented in Anatomy practical classes: the minimal variation is to avoid some duplication of material that was necessary for the smooth presentation in classwork
  • This review of histology is not comprehensive and does not pretend to be a histology "course" as such
  • It has been generated at the request of students to provide an opportunity to revisit class material and in the absence of a histology textbook/atlas at a sufficiently simple level
  • It fits the requirements of the students in the medical curriculum, if not their needs
