Which of the following is NOT morbilliform exanthem (drug reaction)?
Well done, correct.
Morbilliform drug eruption is the most common form of drug reaction. It is also referred to as a maculopapular drug eruption due to its characteristic appearance of discrete macules and papules which can coalesce to form large erythematous patches or plaques. The rash usually appears firstly on the trunk and then spreads out to the limbs and neck. Its distribution is typically bilateral and symmetrical. Lesions tend to blanch under pressure but may be purpuric (non-blanchable) on the lower legs.
Tinea corporis ("ringworm") is a superficial fungal skin infection that affects any part of the body except hands, feet, scalp, face, groin, and nails. It is characterised by itchy ring-shaped lesions with central hypopigmentation and a peripheral scaly red rim (ringworm). Over time, multiple lesions may develop and coalesce forming a polycyclic pattern. Distribution of lesions is usually asymmetrical.
