Pyogenic granuloma is a misnomer describing a benign proliferation of capillary blood vessels of the skin and oral cavity. It characteristically presents as a small painless red fleshy nodule that grows rapidly over a few weeks. Pyogenic granuloma is known to bleed easily with minor trauma.
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a locally invasive nonmelanoma and is the commonest type of skin cancer. BCC characterised by a slow growing nodule/ plaque with a central depression/ ulceration so its edges appear rolled and translucent. Spontaneous bleeding may ensue.
