Psoriasis is characterised by clearly defined, red, scaly patches of skin. Other features may include nail pitting and onycholysis.
Tinea corporis ("ringworm") is a superficial fungal skin infection that affects any part of the body except hands, feet, scalp, face, groin, and nails. It is characterised by itchy ring-shaped lesions with central hypopigmentation and a peripheral scaly red rim (ringworm). Over time, multiple lesions may develop and coalesce forming a polycyclic pattern. Distribution of lesions is usually asymmetrical.
