Reassess the patient (A-E approach):
Discharge patient with adequate advice:
apply antiseptic cream (ie. Naseptin, Bactroban) in nostrils for 2 weeks
[caution: do not prescribe Naseptin in patients with peanut/ soya allergy]
not to blow, pick their nose
avoid hot foods/ drinks for a few days
avoid strenuous activities for a few days
educate patients about proper first aid measures in the event of a re-bleed and to seek medical aid if nosebleed lasts longer than 20 minutes
