- Wide QRS complex:
- The QRS complexes are roughly one small square which makes them narrow
- A QRS of over 120ms or three small boxes would be considered wide
- Atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia (AVNRT):
- These rhythyms are usually >160bpm and do not have visible p waves
- Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome:
- In this disorder there is a characteristic 'delta wave' seen at the start of the QRS complex
- Sinus tachycardia:
- The QRS complexes are narrow and regular
- There are p waves before every QRS complex (best seen in leads V1 to V3 and lead II)
- This makes it sinus rhythm and with a rough rate of 140bpm it is a sinus tachycardia
- Atrial flutter:
- Although atrial flutter is usually around this rate, there is no characteristic 'sawtooth' baseline
