The Restore Essay Prize is run annually and is open to all current UK medical
students. Many see this as a great way to explore and nurture their interest in the
field of Burns, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery. Once again this year, we received
an exceptional standard of entries from medical schools across the country. After
careful assessment by external reviewers, there was an outright winner, two runners-
up and several entrants who were highly commended.
We are delighted to announce the winner of the Essay Prize 2016-2017 is Lynsey
Williams (St George’s University Medical School). Congratulations! She has been
awarded £1000 towards an elective or summer project in a burns or plastic surgery
department.
