The Jewish Medical Association (UK) supports electives in Israel which aim to foster links between all UK medical schools, and medical students, with Israeli medicine.
There is a long track record of rewarding elective experience under this scheme. Host institutions in Israel help to make sure that language is not a barrier, and the exposure to medicine based in a culturally diverse society is remarkable.
All UK medical students are eligible for these bursaries, subject to the consent of both their parent and host institutions
Application
The elective scheme is advertised to all medical schools at the start of the academic year.
An application for a Jewish Medical Association (UK) Elective Scholarship in Israel should normally be made at least three months in advance of the start date for your elective.Applications are invited on a rolling basis, as the timing of electives varies considerably between medical schools.
Applications must include a curriculum vitae, a covering letter explaining the nature of the elective, documentation of approval from the student’s medical school for the elective programme, and documentation from the host teaching hospital / medical school that the student has been accepted.
