How you access online Library collections and databases will be changing on Wednesday 22 May, with the login process becoming the same method currently used to access Microsoft365 software. The only change is that you need to add @abdn.ac.uk to what you will have been doing before.
This change should reduce the number of times that you are asked to login to see our wonderful digital collections. Full details of the change can be seen below.
To access the online library collections that the University of Aberdeen subscribes to, such as the contents of academic databases and our vast e-book collections, you must prove that you are a member of the University.
To do that, most of these resources require you to select the Shibboleth/Institutional login option when you want to see these online materials. You will still need to select the Shibboleth/Institutional option but the login screen and the information you enter will change on 22 May.
Previously the login screen looked like this:
From Wednesday 22 May we will be using the Microsoft login which looks like this:
Simply log in using your username@abdn.ac.uk (e.g.u99jb22@abdn.ac.uk or s01ep2@abdn.ac.uk) and your password.
If you are off campus or have not logged onto Microsoft recently, it may ask you for Multifactor Authentication (MFA). More information and a video on how to set up MFA can be found on our website.
If you have any questions about this, please contact library@abdn.ac.uk.
