Child Migration from the Orphan Homes of Scotland
-
This is a past event
This illustrated talk discusses child migration from the Orphan Homes of Scotland (the organisation that would become Quarriers) from 1872 until 1960, as part of the New Found Land exhibition programme
Approximately 7,000 children were sent to Canada with the assistance of Quarriers. The talk will assess the legacy of this movement, with some information on the Quarriers Canadian Family, and include a small display of some Quarriers archive artefacts.
