A student - led curator's talk on the role of opium in the Victorian era
Following the opening of the MLitt Museum Studies students' exhibition Victorian Time: The Spirit of the Age, the talks will elaborate on various themes and objects found within. As part of a series of lunchtime talks held in King's Museum MLitt student, Kirsty Matheson provides a free talk on the uses and prevalence of opium in Victorian life, with relation to its medicinal uses and as a recreational substance. There will also be a discussion on the role of opium in the literature of the time.
