A free lecture by Dr Armand d'Angour of the University of Oxford, organised by the Aberdeen Scottish-Hellenic Society, as part of the King's Museum lecture series.

Dr Armand D'Angour teaches Classical Languages and Literature at Jesus College, Oxford. His book The Greeks and the New was published in 2011; a further book on innovation entitled Eureka: Seven Principles of Innovation is due in 2013. Formerly a professional cellist and musician, he was commissioned by the Mayor of London to compose the Pindaric Ode for the London Olympics 2012. He is currently on 2 years’ research leave (2013-15), part funded by the British Academy, writing a book on ancient Greek music and its relation to Greek poetry and drama.
