David Cardno Story Box: an exhibition by Kittybrewster Primary School
-
This is a past event
Come to The Sir Duncan Rice Library to see an exhibition of work by Kittybrewster Primary School in response to the archives of a Peterhead whaler, David Cardno.
At the age of only 13 Cardno stowed away on a boat to the Arctic and he spent the rest of his life working as a whaler in the far north. His diaries, notebooks, scrapbook and photographs tell us not only about the thrills and dangers of life on board a whaling ship, but also about the Inuit people Cardno met on Baffin Island. As the children say, come to the exhibition because "they’ve worked hard, it’s free, educational and epic!"
