In this one-hour workshop led by local writers Emily Utter and Shane Strachan, we will explore how much you can fit into a 500-word flash fiction story.
How many characters can be focused upon? How many events can take place? We will look at famous examples of flash fiction and discuss why they work, what makes them memorable and how less really is more.During the workshop, participants will get the chance to begin their own flash fiction stories in anticipation of University of Aberdeen’s Flash Fiction competition part of Book Week Scotland 2013.Places are limited so please email Stevie at aberdeen@waterstones.com to reserve a place.Waterstones, 3-7 Union Bridge, Aberdeen, AB11 6BG. 01224 592 440
