This is a past event
The Aberdeen Humanities Fund was launched in October last year with a series of lively and engaging presentations by academic staff, inspired by the Special Collections at the Sir Duncan Rice Library, in an event called Stacks Alive. The Aberdeen Humanities Fund is pleased to continue the Stacks Alive series with a forthcoming event to which you are warmly invited. The event also highlights key themes in the current exhibition at the Library, Waterlines by Will Maclean and Marian Leven, and features fascinating contributions in the following programme:
Vision Written
University of Aberdeen’s Special Collections and their contribution to a definition of visual culture in early-modern Scotland
Fern Insh, PhD Candidate, History of Art
Global Aberdeen
Aberdonians and Britain's Maritime Empire in Asia
Dr. Andrew MacKillop, Senior Lecturer, Department of History, School of Divinity, History and Philosophy
Stacks Alive signals the last chance to see the current exhibition at the Library, Waterlines, revealing the inspiration behind a new sculptural work by Will Maclean and Marian Leven.
The event will be hosted in the Seminar Room on the Lower Ground Floor of the Sir Duncan Rice Library. The Gallery will remain open on the evening with visitors encouraged to view the Waterlines exhibition at their leisure.
